BMBS, FANZCA
Andrew is originally from Adelaide and although spent three years of high school in Hobart, graduated from medical school at Flinders University of South Australia in 1994. After working for two years in Hobart he took time off for travelling before commencing anaesthetics training in the United Kingdom. He returned to Australia to continue training, and developed an interest in obstetric anaesthesia working at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne. This interest continued with further sub-specialty training in obstetric anaesthesia at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland. Andrew returned to Australia in 2005 where he commenced as a Staff Specialist at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and joined the Hobart Anaesthetic Group in the same year.

Andrew has held positions related to obstetric anaesthesia with the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, Australian Society of Anaesthetists, Calvary Healthcare Tasmania, and Royal Hobart Hospital. He also has an interest in working in developing countries, and has previously performed volunteer work in South Africa and Laos. He continues to visit Laos regularly to help train anaesthetists in that country.

Outside of medicine Andrew is married with two children. In addition to travel he also enjoys cycling and photography.
